After years of practicing as a Registered Dietitian I have added a few credentials to my name but to be honest I have learned so much more from my nutrition counseling experience. Working with human beings who have real struggles, have been victims to diet culture, weight stigma and societal pressure has taught me more than any textbook ever could.
Each individual has shown me a different perspective of what healthy means and that each and every person has very unique health needs that go far beyond just food.
Yes, equations are nice. Yes, science is a powerful tool. Yes, I still use evidenced based nutrition recommendations HOWEVER, I strongly believe you are the true expert of your body. I am here to serve as a guide and support you with tools and resources to live your freest, healthiest, whole life.
I hope you join me as I fulfill my mission to help people feel comfortable and happy in their body while exploring holistic health practices. Connecting mind, body and soul, one step at a time.
Say goodbye to restrictive eating, detoxing & fad diets!
Restrictive eating, detoxing, and fad dieting is not the answer to healthy living. If you’ve been a victim to dieting, let’s break that vicious cycle. There isn’t a one-size fits all diet. If you’re searching for a sustainable solution, let me guide and support you with a customized approach.
I have experience as an inpatient and outpatient clinical dietitian for unique populations and rural areas. These experiences have opened my eyes to many nutrition issues including food scarcity and accessibility.
I strongly believe in giving back to my community and profession. I was the President of the Northern Colorado Dietetics Association and Alaska Association of Nutrition and Dietetics with a mission to support dietetic interns every year and promote resources for underserved populations.
Running races for good causes, hosting community fitness events and encouraging others to get involved are things I am passionate about!
When I’m not doing dietitian things, providing nutrition counseling, writing articles, working with restaurants, hosting yoga retreats, teaching cooking classes you will most likely find her:
• Walking with her darling Cavalier King Charles Spaniels
• Spending time with her high energy daughter
• Doing a Crossfit workout, yoga or running
• Traveling to far off places to explore new cultures, or her home in Alaska
• Drinking coffee or mimosas with girlfriends
• Cooking dinner with her husband with wild game & fresh produce (he’s an avid hunter & amazing chef to boot!)
• Out finding the perfect donut – yes, seriously.
