Favorite Things To Do In Breckenridge, Colorado
Breckenridge is a Colorado mountain town at the base of the Rocky Mountains. It’s known for its amazing nearby ski resorts, year-round outdoor activities and Gold Rush history. The Victorian core of this former mining town is preserved as the Breckenridge National Historic District, running primarily along Main Street, with colorfully painted buildings from the 1880s and ’90s housing shops, galleries and restaurants.
Breck is our Colorado weekend getaway spot. We love all the food, skiing and outdoor activities it has to offer!
Places Eat On Main Street
*Disclaimer: Prepare for 30 minutes to a 2 hour wait on the weekends during tourist season*
Giampietros– I have almost had everything on the menu. This is our go to spot. From the fettucine to the pizza, it’s all delicious but my favorite dishes are from the baked pasta list. Manicotti stuffed with delicious cheese blends topped with their amazing marinara, you can’t go wrong!
Carboy Winery– Has a great happy hour and was very reasonable. I loved the red wine flight, crispy Brussel sprouts and cheese & meat board. It’s a social atmosphere and I definitely end up always buying a bottle…or two.
Crepes A La Cart– I could eat these crepes every day. They have a variety of flavor combos and make them fresh right in front of you. There is always a line on Main Street, thank goodness they opened a second location (it’s hidden in an alley)! My favorite sweet option is the Funky French Monkey and as for savory the New York Smear.
Downstairs at Eric’s– Gigantic pizza, awesome buffalo chicken and fries, what more could you want after a long day of skiing? Did I order all of these at the same meal? Maybe. There’s also an arcade for while you wait. This is a great place to bring friends and share food.
Modis– All I can say is, get the mussels. I could literally drink the sauce. They have amazing drinks, but the sauce is just that good.
Mountain Top Cookies– Try to get there early in the day for the day old cookie frosting sandwiches. I try a different flavor every time we are in town. Haven’t found one I didn’t like, but the M&M sugar cookie is my favorite.
Coffee Shops in Breckenridge:
The Crown– By far my favorite coffee shop in Breck. I love their breakfast options, I get “The Watson” and add sprouts to it and the coffee is to die for. I get the cinnamon vanilla latte, it’s got a hint of sweetness and is so smooth.
Clint’s Bakery– The coffee is also great and the baked goods…well you’ll have to see for yourself. They also have vegan options! I love the berry crumbles and banana bread.
Mom’s Bakery: If you are looking for a decadent dessert with delicious espresso, this is the place. They have amazing European style baked goods and take it to a higher standard with presentation and taste.
Starbucks- Call me basic, but I love this cute little yellow house Starbucks.
Daylight Donuts– Easy breakfast stop before skiing with fresh hot donuts. This donut shop also has little sausage roll-ups and egg options too!
Shopping on Main Street in Breckenridge
Marigolds-This farmhouse eclectic shop on Main Street is by far my favorite place to stop. They have home décor, jewelry, clothing and all kinds of gifts. They have the best flannels, unique earrings and bracelets, and accessories galore. It smells like soy vanilla candles and heaven.
Vintage Sweet and Chic– Next store to Marigold’s has dainty beautiful jewelry, trendy and vintage clothing, and the cutest cactus décor.
Mountain Goat Clothing Co– I have to hold myself back from buying everything in this store. I love their winter gear and style.

Activities in Breckenridge
Boreas Pass – great snowshoeing trail for beginners. You can also hike, cross country ski or snowboard down after hiking up!
Gold Run Nordic Center – cross country skiing is actually my favorite winter activity. It’s a great way to get some exercise while still being able to spend quality time with whoever you are doing it with. There are also never any lines. I loved these trails and it was so easy to rent skis and boots.
